Shocking: Scientist Who “Discovered” ADHD Now Claims It’s a Fake Disease

Leon Eisenberg or the so called “scientific father of ADHD” in his last interview said that the disease he discovered, ADHD, is a prime example of a fictitious disease. Leon Eisenberg, according to Psychiatric News, received the Ruane Prize for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Research. Dr. Eisenberg was a leader in child psychiatry for more than 40 years. In his life work, Dr. Eisenberg worked in many researches, teaching, pharmacological trials, social policy and he worked hard for his theories of autism and social medicine. So, now we ask ourselves, what’s the main reason behind all this? Why would such a man and appreciated doctor discredit his own life work after so many years?

Almost 6 million children a year are diagnosed with this disease. A famous psychologist at Harvard University and leading expert in childhood development, Dr. Jerome Kagan, says that we need to go back 50 years. And if we look at a 7 year old child who is bored in school and disrupts classes. Back in those days, those kids were called lazy kids. And, today, that kid is said to suffer from ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Really? Today every kid who is not doing well in school and disrupts classes is sent to see the school’s pediatrician. The pediatrician says that is ADHD and prescribes Ritalin. 90 % of these 6 million kids don’t have any type of abnormal dopamine metabolism, what so ever. The main problem is that if some drug is available to doctors, they will make the corresponding diagnosis.

One in ten American boys takes medications every day. A recent study was published by Dr. Lisa Cosgrove and it is a set of guidelines that doctors use to diagnose mental conditions and how to treat them. The name of the study is “Financial Ties between DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) Panel Members and the Pharmaceutical Industry”. Will you be surprised when you read that of the 170 DSM panel members 95 or 56% had one or more financial associations with companies in the pharmaceutical companies? And 99% of the members of the panels on Mood Disorders and ‘Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders’ had financial ties to drug companies.

This raises the following question: Are they safe?
