Pope Leo Fires Back After Trump Calls Him “Weak” and “Terrible”

A public clash between Pope Leo XIV and Donald Trump has erupted into global headlines.

The tension began after Trump took to social media, launching a harsh attack on the Pope, calling him “weak on crime” and “terrible on foreign policy.” His comments came shortly after the Pope’s Palm Sunday message, where Leo spoke about the dangers of war, warning against what he described as the “idolatry of self” and the illusion of unlimited power.

Without naming Trump directly, the Pope criticized world leaders who justify violence, saying that God does not listen to those whose “hands are full of blood.”

But Leo didn’t stay silent.

Speaking to journalists during a flight to Africa, he made his position clear: he has “no fear” of the Trump administration and will continue speaking out.

“I will not enter into debate,” he said calmly. “My words are not attacks. I am دعوتing people to build bridges, to seek peace, and to avoid war whenever possible.”

He emphasized that the Church’s mission is not political power, but peace and reconciliation.

Meanwhile, Trump doubled down.

In a fiery post, he accused the Pope of misunderstanding global threats, criticized his stance on Iran, and even took a personal jab—saying he preferred the Pope’s brother because he “gets it.”

Trump also claimed his leadership has brought record-low crime and a booming economy, insisting the Pope should “focus on being a great Pope, not a politician.”

The feud highlights a deeper divide: one side pushing military strength and political dominance, the other calling for restraint, morality, and peace.

And as tensions rise, one thing is clear—

This is no longer just politics.

It’s a battle of values.
