Country music icon Reba McEntire delivered a powerful rendition of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVIII, moving both fans and players to tears. The Grammy-winning artist, at 68 years old, took to the field just before kickoff and delivered a flawless performance filled with talent and emotion. Her rendition was so captivating that cameras captured Chiefs All-Pro defensive lineman Chris Jones visibly moved, shedding tears as he listened to her heartfelt rendition.


By the end of Reba McEntire’s rendition, even Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes found himself getting misty-eyed.

Interestingly, while this was Reba McEntire’s debut singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, she’s no stranger to the song, having performed it numerous times over her illustrious 50-year music career. In fact, she was discovered while singing the Star Spangled Banner.

Ahead of her performance, Reba reminisced on X about opening the National Finals Rodeo in 1974. On her website, she elaborated, revealing that her exceptional rendition on that day led to her official discovery.

“I feel deeply honored to be a part of such a monumental event as the Super Bowl making its debut in Las Vegas. 2024 holds special significance for me as it marks the 50th anniversary of my discovery while singing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo. There couldn’t be a more fitting way to commemorate this milestone,” Reba shared with enthusiasm.
