In the modern era of technology every one of us own a computer, cell phone or tablet and spends many hours on it. According to statistics, an ordinary human spends around 2-4 hours a day on their computer and phone. We know that it is very important to stay connected with your friends and family any exaggeration has bad consequences. Teenagers spend hours and hours on their phones and computers texting, watching videos speaking etc. This is harmful for their body and mind and especially for the neck.

“Text neck” is a term for the chronic pain in the neck area which is a result of too many hours in front of the phone or computer. This pain occurs when the proper and normal curve in the cervical spine becomes reduced and in some cases it may even move forward. The normal curve of the spine is 40 degrees but due to long hours in an uncomfortable position it will become bend and extremely painful.

Lucky, there is a solution for this problem. The solution is in your habits and life style. You are the one responsible for your body and how it looks. In the first place you have to give up your bad habits and limit the use of your phone. Do exercises that will stretch the body muscles and provide the body with right posture. Go to the gym or run in the park, it doesn’t matter as long as you are in action. When using your phone try to sit with your back straight and after one hour in front of the TV, phone or computer make a small walk or exercise. Limit the use of your phone. Instead of texting your friends all the time, call them and go out for a lunch or coffee. Start your day with stretching and exercises and if you are working long hours in the office walk your way to your home and vice versa. Also, there is an app that you can download on your phone which will remind you when you are too bend and you should straighten up your body. Take care about your health and don’t let your body look old and bent during the best years of your life.
