Heartbreaking Update in the Nancy Guthrie Case: Second Note Claims She Did Not Survive

New information has emerged in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year old mother of Today show co anchor Savannah Guthrie. According to a second message reportedly sent to news organizations, Nancy did not survive the ordeal.

The note claimed that she died shortly after being abducted and alleged that her body had been buried in a remote natural area. Sources familiar with the investigation say the message was first brought to light through recent reporting, adding a devastating new development to an already heartbreaking case.

The Guthrie family is said to have received two separate messages after Nancy vanished. The first demanded a cryptocurrency ransom in exchange for her safe return. Details surrounding the second message had not previously been made public. Unlike the first, it reportedly contained no financial demands and offered no explanation or apology, only the claim that Nancy had passed away.

Nancy was last seen at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on January 31. Within days, investigators described the conditions inside the residence as deeply troubling and announced that they believed she had been abducted.

As the investigation unfolded, the FBI released doorbell camera footage showing an individual believed to have entered the property. Authorities briefly questioned a person of interest, but that individual was later released without charges. Since then, investigators have shared very few updates, and the search for answers has continued.

Savannah Guthrie has spoken openly about the emotional burden of returning to work while her mother’s disappearance remains unresolved. During a recent appearance on the Today show, she admitted that being surrounded by familiar colleagues each morning has helped her cope, even as she continues to carry the pain of not knowing what happened to her mother.

This latest reported message has brought even more sadness to a case that has drawn nationwide attention. While investigators continue working to determine the truth, Nancy’s family and countless supporters remain hopeful that the investigation will eventually provide the answers and justice they have been waiting for.
