COW’S MILK IS FOR COWS, NOT FOR HUMANS!

According to a recent study, drinking more than 3 glasses of cow’s milk a day can increase the risk of fractures and premature death, especially in women. “Women who consumed more than 3 glasses a day were 60% more likely to have a hip fracture and 15% more prone to bone fractures as compared to those who drank less than a glass,” says Karl Michaelsoon, the leader of the study from the Uppsala University in Sweden. Another alarming fact is that the women who drank more than 700 ml. of milk a day had doubled the risk of premature death than those who drink less than 1 glass, which shows how dangerous cow’s milk is.

According to the authors of the study, cow’s milk contains high levels galactose, a form of sugar that several studies have connected with shortened lifespan. The study also discovered that the difference in death rates between men who consumed less or more milk is not very big. However, some studies have suggested that milk is related to prostate cancer. For the assimilation of casein, a milk protein element the body needs an enzyme called renin which is produced when we’re 3-4 years old. Knowing that cow’s milk contains 20 times more casein than usually, it shouldn’t surprise us that we’re not able to assimilate it properly, which is why it’s linked to numerous conditions such as asthma.

Here are some other conditions caused by milk:

  • Allergies, nasal congestion, skin irritation, chest infections. According to Dr. William Ellis from Texas, dairy products cause increase the amount of mucus in the respiratory system which leads to numerous health problems;
  • According to Dr. Christiane Northrup, cow’s milk-fed babies have a rate of 84.5 death per a thousand during the first 9 months of their life, while in breast-fed infants, this rate was 1.5 per 1000. The rate of death from respiratory infections was 120 times higher than children fed with human milk;
  • Cow’s milk isn’t the most absorbable source of calcium. Dr. Oski says that meals with 2:1 or higher calcium\phosphorus ratio can be considered as primary sources of calcium. Cow’s milk has a 1.27:1 ratio, while human milk has 2.35:1 ratio. The high levels of phosphorus in cow’s milk is what prevents the calcium absorption;
  • Stopping cow’s milk consumption can help you reduce arthritis and osteoarthritis, according to a recent Swedish study;
  • Many people have seen a significant reduction of their cold and flu symptoms after eliminating milk and dairy products from their diet.

In conclusion, although the chemical composition of milk is great for calves, it doesn’t provide us with the nutrients we need. The same can be said for human’s milk – it’s great for our babies, but not for animals. Also, don’t forget about the fact that the enzyme our body requires for milk digestion develops during the first years of our life. As the studies have shown, cow’s milk is for cow’s not humans, so stop drinking it to prevent further problems.
