Cody Johnson and His Wife Brandi Welcome a Baby Boy: “I Finally Got My Boy”

Country star Cody Johnson and his wife Brandi are officially a family of five! The “’Til You Can’t” singer recently revealed that the couple welcomed their first son, Jaycee Daniel Johnson, on October 21.

During an interview with Lon Helton on Country Countdown USA, Cody couldn’t contain his excitement as he shared the news that he and Brandi quietly celebrated the arrival of their baby boy.

“I finally got my boy,” Cody said with a smile. “He and mom are here at the house, and they’re healthy and happy. It was a wonderful experience.”

He admitted that they hadn’t planned to announce the news just yet — but when asked about it, he couldn’t help himself.

“We hadn’t announced it, but there’s no way that if Lon asked about it, I’m not gonna not talk about it,” he laughed.

A Growing Family

Baby Jaycee Daniel joins big sisters Clara Mae (10) and Cori (8), who are reportedly thrilled to have a baby brother. Cody joked in a previous interview that his daughters already see the new arrival as “our baby.”

“They keep calling it our baby,” he said. “‘When our baby gets here…’ And I’m like, ‘Y’all are still kids!’ But then it hit me — I’ve built-in babysitters. Clara’s 10, Cori’s eight. So like, this boy is screwed,” he laughed.

A Sweet Surprise Announcement

Cody and Brandi first shared the news that they were expecting baby #3 while walking the red carpet at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May. At the time, Cody told PEOPLE magazine,

“We’re having a little boy! We decided to make this our announcement to the world and our gender reveal as well.”

And the way Brandi told Cody she was pregnant was pure country creativity.

In a July chat with Cody Alan on SiriusXM’s The Highway, Cody recalled the clever moment his wife surprised him:

“She texted me and said, ‘Hey, can you come out to the barn and help me unload my truck?’” he said. “I get out there, and it’s this little box I could have easily carried. Then she goes, ‘Oh, there’s one more thing in there if you can get that.’ I grab it, open it up… and there’s the pregnancy test.”

Life on the Ranch Just Got a Little Louder

The Johnsons, who have been married since 2008, live on a working cattle ranch, and Cody says raising his son in that environment feels just right.

“The fact that he’s gonna be born on a cattle ranch — that’s gonna be cool, man,” Cody shared. “He’s gonna be the little buckaroo riding around with six-shooters on.”

Between songwriting, touring, and ranch life, Cody has always made family his top priority. The country hitmaker often shares how much Brandi and their daughters keep him grounded — and now, baby Jaycee adds one more blessing to that beautiful, busy life.
