This unfortunate illness forced her to miss a significant event where she was scheduled to announce her latest book club selection. Gayle King, who was present during the broadcast, provided insights into Oprah’s condition on an episode of CBS Mornings.

According to King, Oprah was resolute in her determination to overcome the illness, stating, “I’m going to rally, I’m going to rally.” However, the stomach flu took a toll on her, causing considerable discomfort. While King refrained from sharing graphic details, she emphasized that Oprah’s condition was serious enough to necessitate medical attention and treatment for dehydration, including an intravenous (IV) drip.
King reassured viewers that Oprah would be okay but expressed her concern about sharing such personal information, acknowledging its significance to Oprah and her regret for not being present for her fans that day.
