Kansas Woman Becomes Third Sister To Turn 100, She Celebrates With Her 104 and 102-Year-Old Siblings

Birthdays are always fun, but there are some ages that are especially significant in a person’s life. Being able to drive on your own, vote in your local election, or buy things you weren’t able to before brings a sense of joy. Every passing year brings more independence and a step closer to finding who you really are.

Celebrating these milestones with friends and family is especially fun, as three sisters from Kansas have discovered. On Nov. 11, 2021, Frances Kompus turned 100 years old, marking a huge milestone in her life. She is the youngest sibling in her family to reach a century, which is remarkable in and of itself.

Julia Kopriva and Lucy Pochop, her older sisters, passed the centennial age a few years ago. In November 2021, Kopriva turned 104, while Pochop turned 102. Kompus turned triple digits at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood, Kansas, where all three sisters were baptized, confirmed, and married. In addition to each other, 50 other people attended the celebration.

This story is characterized by the sense of togetherness the siblings have shown, as they have marveled at the beautiful moments they have shared over the years.

Kompus celebrated her 100th birthday with her 104-year-old and 102-year-old sisters at the same place where they shared so many wonderful memories. In response to a question about her birthday party, Kompus said, “It was great.”. I enjoyed it.”

KSN-TV reports that the three elderly sisters have witnessed some historic events over the years, both good and bad, including the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and the first time they were legally able to vote. What is the secret to such a long and prosperous life? Kompus attributes her success to a healthy diet and attitude. Furthermore, she encourages others to be social, go for walks, and “keep going.”

Kompus, Kopriva, and Pochop have always been close, and their relationship has only grown stronger over time. They moved into adjoining apartments in Atwood after becoming widows. The sisters are so close that they have even been called The Three Musketeers. Whether working or having fun, Kompus always wanted to “keep up with her sisters.”

“I’m thankful that we girls are always together,” Kopriva said.

Future generations are encouraged to eat well, exercise, and thank their elders, according to the sisters. Centennials are a major milestone in and of themselves, but what’s even more remarkable is that the sisters don’t even feel that long has passed.

“I don’t feel that old,” Kopriva said.

How do you feel about this beautiful set of three sisters celebrating milestones and big moments together? Please let us know, and please share this with your family and friends.
