How to use Comfrey for Broken Bones and Bruises

Comfrey is a perennial herb that has been used for many years in traditional medicine.  It is also sometimes referred to a knit-bone because it is said to be very good at promoting healing within when applied to the skin. Comfrey includes a chemical compound called allantoin that has great anti-inflammatory properties, aids in wound healing, and encourages new cell growth.  While comfrey should not be taken internally and it’s strictly forbidden to make tea out of it in some countries in the worlds, or applied to broken skin, a poultice made of its leaves can reduce swelling and encourage healing. It’s scientifically proven that broken bones heal up to 5 times faster if you use comfrey as a remedy.

How to use comfrey to heal broken bones

Recipe 1: you should get 100 grams of comfrey root, chop it in small pieces, put the chopped comfrey in a bowl and pour 1 liter of boiling milk over it. Then, leave it on medium heat for 20 minutes. When it’s cooked, leave the mixture for 6 hours and then strain it. Soak a cotton towel in the mixture and apply it on the affected area. You need to change the cotton towel every 4 hours, for the first 6 treatments, and then you don’t have to change it so often.

Recipe 2: four tablespoons of nicely chopped comfrey root are mixed with some boiling milk in a small bowl. Then, put the bowl on medium heat, and let it simmer until you get nice mixture. Put the mixture on a towel and apply it on the broken bone area, and make sure you won’t tight it too much, so you won’t stop the blood flow. You should change the mixture-towel every four hours.

Recipe 3: you can also use the comfrey leaves. You need to grind the leaves, and then apply the mixture on the broken bone area and secure it with a nylon wrap.
