Growing your own plants is easy provided you keep a few things in mind while selecting your plants and placing them in the right location.

First, you have to choose the best soil space for your homemade blueberry plant. So, if you are interested in growing your own blueberry plant, the best place to plant it is in a sunny place, and you need to use a well-worked and well drained soil. These bushes require a lot of attention. Annual heavy pruning is recommended. You should do this in order to avoid over fruiting, which often results with very small fruits. Also, you need to remove a good portion of the flower blooms when they first begin to appear and prune the bush regularly. The blueberry roots have very shallow roots. So, they benefit from mach Sawdust, bark mulch, grass clippings, and acid compost are the best blueberry mulches.

They are very sensitive to over fertilization as well. So, it’s extremely important to remember not to use too much fertilizer. You should use organic fertilizers, just like blood meal and cottonseed. You should avoid manures, because they damage the bush.
