We sometimes notice swelling or lumps in a part of our body, but this problem is never considered serious and usually goes away on its own. Swelling of the tissues is usually caused by cysts, abnormal structures that are filled with liquid, gas or solid substance. A cyst behind the ear or on the neck is a common problem which affects people of all ages. The size of the lump may vary and the cyst is usually caused by:
- Bacterial infections;
- Inflammatory disease;
- Tumors in the neck or cancer;
- Physical injuries;
- Prolonged exposure to radiation;
Whatever the cause, you should remove the cyst from your neck. The usual treatment includes a surgical procedure, but we will show you how to remove it naturally from the comfort of your own home. Here’s what you need to do:
Apply some apple cider vinegar on the cyst and cover it with a gauze, and repeat the process until the outer layer hardens. Once it does, peel off the skin. Next, make an Epsom salt bath and soak in it for 30 minutes. This will soften the cyst and remove it effectively.
Here’s another useful trick for removing cysts from your neck: put a used green tea bag on the cyst and leave it overnight to reduce its size and eliminate it. You can also apply a paste of honey, wheatgrass and banana on the cyst, then leave it to work overnight. Rinse with lukewarm water in the morning and you will notice the cyst has shrunk. However, if the cyst is very painful and there’s no progress for 72 hours after trying any of these remedies, you should visit a doctor.
