Cancer is the deadliest and most feared disease of our time. It often strikes without notice, and the high death rate only makes things worse. The causes of the disease haven’t been identified yet, and scientists are still unable to find a cure. However, if a recent study is to be believed, there are some symptoms that are a sure sign of cancer.
The study claims that blood in the urine or rectum, lumps on the breasts and coughing up blood are some of the main symptoms of the disease. During the study, scientists took the results of 25 previous studies in consideration in order to develop a list of the most common symptoms of cancer. They have concluded that the risk of cancer in people under 55 who have experienced at least 2 of the symptoms on the list increases by 5%. Difficulty swallowing is a big sign of esophageal cancer in men over 55, while blood in the urine is a cause for concern in both men and women over 60.
Here are the 13 main signs of cancer scientists have been able to identify in the study:
- Abdominal pain;
- Weakness and fatigue;
- Facial swelling;
- Back pain;
- Satiety changes or uncontrollable hunger;
- Pain in the chest;
- Shortness of breath;
- Changes on the nails;
- Weight loss;
- Difficulty swallowing;
- Blood in the urine;
- Cough that goes on for a prolonged period.
If you have noticed any of the aforementioned symptoms going on for longer, you should immediately visit a doctor!
